About the service

Independent access to LEI data

LEI.report provides a fast, accessible search interface and free developer API over public Legal Entity Identifier reference data and official mapping files. It is independently operated and is not affiliated with or endorsed by GLEIF or a Local Operating Unit.

Data provenance

Each API response and record page identifies the active dataset version and source publication time. Entity pages resolve the official Registration Authorities List, Entity Legal Forms list, accepted legal jurisdictions, and LEI issuing organizations. BIC, ISIN, MIC, Global Energy Monitor, and QCC identifiers use their current official relationship files.

LEI reference data is made available by GLEIF under CC0. Identifier relationship files may carry separate notices; review GLEIF’s current data terms before operational use.

Change history

LEI.report replays official GLEIF Golden Copy snapshots and three-times-daily deltas into a separate, append-only history database. Archived versions never update the active entity table. The site merges recovered history with forward field-level collection and labels any entity found only in historical publications as an archived record.

Developer access

The API supports anonymous use and free accounts for higher daily quotas. Accounts collect only the details needed to operate credentials, understand intended use, and protect service capacity. LEI.report does not track visitor behavior.

What this service does not do

LEI.report does not issue identifiers, renew registrations, provide legal advice, sell bulk derivative downloads, or provide paid API plans.

Verify important decisions

Reference records can be corrected or superseded. Confirm important status, ownership, and registration decisions with GLEIF’s official Golden Copy data.
